“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life — the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us — that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.” – 1 John 1:1-3

Why 113?

The Bible tells us that we’ve all sinned and as a result, we have fallen out of relationship with God. The first few verses of 1 John 1 tell us about how God kept His gracious promise to bring redemption and eternal life to us by sending His own Son, Jesus Christ – who is the Word of life. What John and the rest of the Bible testify about Jesus is his sinless life, death for our sin, and real resurrection. This is what is known as the gospel – the good news that Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is God’s plan of salvation for the world.

Jesus boldly speaks of himself as the one true way of entering into a saving relationship with God (John 14:6). We believe this to be true as well. Our relationship with God shapes how we relate to the world around us and we want to be people that share this good news with others so that they too may have redemption and eternal life with God. Because of who we know the God of the Bible to be and what He’s done for us, we desire to be a 1 John 1:3 people.

Mission and Vision

As the student ministry of Oaks Community Church, the mission of 113 is to make disciples that know the gospel, have intimacy with God, embrace Christian community, and proclaim the gospel in speech and service – all that God may be glorified.

We trust that as we teach the Bible to students, help them pursue God, invite them into Christian community, and give them opportunities to live out their faith – students will live as disciples who are marked by God, God’s word, God’s people, and God’s salvation to the world.

Gatherings

Students 6th – 12th grade and up to 18 years old are welcome to join us weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. We gather in a variety of spaces throughout Collier County that allow us to have fun, build relationships, and live out our mission and vision. Twice a month on Wednesday nights, we have dinner and gather into small groups to study the Bible. These groups are age and gender-specific and are led by trained leaders. The other Wednesday nights of the month we are out connecting with the community and serving others in a variety of ways.
